PRESIDENT AND SISTER JOHNSON ARRIVE..AND "YOU NEED A BOOKING" - 08/24/2020

My new mission President, President and Sister Johnson
during our interview, they are amazing!!

Sister Devotional

For starters, President and Sister Johnson got here this week! They are INCREDIBLE and I have already learned so much from them! We got to do a couple of mission calls, interviews, and an MLC so we have had a lot of conversations with them! They are very inspired people and have so many incredible stories. I am excited for these next couple of months with them, I know that I will learn so much!!!
AH, what an exciting week!!! I am a tired human BUT it has been so so good so it is all worth it!! We had the funniest day ever (in my opinion hehe). SO we planned a little lunch with our friend that just got baptized and we wanted to go to this place to get a roast dinner (basically a proper English meal) AND we walk in and got told 4 simples words "you need a booking" WELL OKAY. So we walked 12 minutes down the road to Pizza Hut and guess what we got told... "you need a booking" hahaha SO we went to the next place called Frankie and Benny's and you'll never believe it BUT we needed a booking!!!! SO we called this little cafe and don't you even worry because we needed a booking there too hahaha SO MCDONALDS HERE WE COME. It was so funny and made for a good laugh because it was POURING rain!!! BUT in the end, I got my chicken nuggets so I, myself, was one happy chicken nugget!!!
Planning with Chester

Splits with Sister Christensen!!

BUT YES so this week we found a friend on Instagram!!!! AND got two referrals from a member, which is incredible. For the past few weeks, we made a goal to constantly pray for miracles and for a referral because we need help in the work (always)!!! AH so we kept on forgetting, we would do it every so often but it wasn't very specific and so this week we really made a push AND let's just say God is good!! A member, that is one of our really good friends, basically went street contacting and talked to these two college students who now want to learn more! LIKE HUH. Afterwards we just looked at each other with such joy because of how good God is!!! It just made me realize the importance of remembering and the power of prayer, which is always good, I LOVE IT!!! I love being a missionary!! OH also there is this recent convert who got baptized then looked into some not great things SO stopped coming to church and stopped talking to missionaries BUUUT this week we met with him and he said he would come to church next week!! HOW INCREDIBLE IS THAT. AH God is so good and so aware of His children, I love it!!!
We got VERY caught in the rain!!

ALSO, we got to do in-person splits this week!!!! Sister Christenson and Sister LeBlanc came up to do a little split with us and it was so incredible. I am just grateful for all I learn from these incredible humans!!!! AH I was with Sister Christenson and I love her so much so it was a happy time :) We also joined Sister Torres and Sister Cairns weekly planning which is happy, they are serving in Chester which is the first area I served in on my mission so it is fun to hear about the people I know and LOOOVE. AND we did splits with Sister Nolan and Sister Gremillion which was also good OH MY GOODNESS FRIENDS I LOVE THESE HUMANS. I can't say it enough, they are the best and teach me so much!!!

WOW, what a long email this week but what can ya do 🤷🏼‍♀️ This week I have been thinking a lot about TRUST. With everything going on with COVID and just life, in general, there a lot of times where we just gotta trust Heavenly Father. We need to trust that He has a plan and that it will all be okay!! I love the scripture in Mosiah 29:20 where it talks about how the Lord will bless us when we humble ourselves and truly trust Him! It says:

"But behold, he did deliver them because they did humble themselves before him; and because they cried mightily unto him he did deliver them out of bondage; and thus doth the Lord work with his power in all cases among the children of men, extending the arm of mercy towards them that put their trust in him."

I just love it. WHAT A BLESSING IS IT to know that the Lord is always there, He always loves us, He always cares for us, and He will ALWAYS comfort us. I love this gospel, I love that we have a Father in Heaven who loves us so much that He sent His Son to this earth for us so that we could always feel the peace and comfort of Him. I LOVE IT. AHHHH HAVE A GOOD WEEK!

LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
sister farnworth
Beautiful photos of England..because I love it here!!

AM I OKAY? IDK MAN - 08/17/2020

We went to Shrewsbury!!

AH, THIS WEEK WAS SO HAPPY (and I promise I am okay hahaha). To start, I got the fattest lip at the end of this week! I woke up one morning with a little bump in my mouth and I accidentally bit it then a couple hours later, I had a fat lip! I was like HUH are you kidding?!??? Wild. BUT IT MADE FOR A GOOD STORY.

I love where we live, it's amazing!!

AND AND AND  we had the most amazing opportunity to go visit some Sisters to do Weekly Planning! IT WAS AMAZING. We walked in and we all just had to take a minute and catch up, it felt like a lifetime since we had seen real missionaries! WHAT A LIFE. But it was happy! So we got to go and see Sister Christenson and Sister LeBlanc THEN the next day, we did in-person splits with Sister Gremillion and Sister Nolan! AH, I was with Sister Gremillion and it was so so good. We were companions almost a year ago so we had SO much to catch up which was happy :') she is the best and teaches me so much!!! AH I LOVE HUMANS (especially these ones!!!!)
Zoomception!!

SO yes other than that we had Zone Conference which was good! We did training for it with the other Sister Training Leaders in Liverpool which was so good! I GOT TO CALL SISTER BULLOCK SO THAT WAS FUN :)) I love her!!! AH, what else?!?? This week was just wild and so so busy!!! We were on the phone non-stop which is good but it made the week fly by, especially with all the traveling which is always good but it was just wild.
Socially distanced split with sister Gremillion :)

ANYWAYS, it is all good in the hood here in England. I love my mission so much and it makes me very happy :) We are just really working on building our teaching pool and working hard!!! It has been a good time and we love it, miracles are coming!!! I just constantly think of the scripture in Moroni 7:29 where it says:

"...my beloved brethren, have miracles ceased? Behold I say unto you, Nay"

AH, THEY HAVE NOT CEASED. I have seen countless miracles big and small and I am beyond blessed!!! God is so good and He is so aware of us!!! I LOVE IT AHHHH I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!!! SO YES, I hope you all have a good week :))

LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
sister farnworth

SUNNY DAYS IN ENGLAND - 08/10/2020

I hit my 16 month mark!!
Planning our zone conference
AHHH this week was so happy! We have had a LOT of sun, a lot of smiles, AND many many miracles!!! SO we are happy :) AH one miracle for the week as we made a friend from an ad we made for Facebook!! She is VERY prepared and we know exciting things are going to come!! SO BASICALLY God is so good!!! It is amazing how this INCREDIBLE work continues even in a time of such uncertainty. SO HAPPY.

Splits AND the sisters devotional :))

We also have just been getting started with our virtual splits and studies with the Sisters this week which is SO FUN. I just love learning from these incredible humans y'all have no idea!!! This Sunday we did a Sisters Devotional where we all shared our conversion stories AND OH BOY. I was so emotional!!! These humans are just such incredible examples to me and it was exactly what I needed! I just love my Saviour and I love how he is our best friend 24/7 like HUH. He is the best and the fact we can all have our own personal conversion is the BEST. AH, I am obsessed with my friends!!!!

OH YES, also the happiest thing happened!!! So every night we have some kind of Zoom call whether it be with the mission or our zone! AND you see, on Saturday night we had a zone call and for it, WE WENT ON A TOUR OF JOHN TAYLOR'S HOUSE IN NAUVOO!!! AH, it made me so happy I don't know why but it just made me excited hahahah so that was fun!!! It made for a good memory!!!
A virtual tour of John Taylor's house in Navoo!

AHHHHH another crazy thing is I have been on my mission for 16 months today! ISN'T THAT WILD?!?!??? AH, time goes too fast!! BUT I am loving my time here and living up every single moment I have here!!! We have the opportunity to do a training at Zone Conference this upcoming week with Sister Bullock and Sister Perez in Liverpool and they mentioned a scripture in Psalm 46:10 where it says:

"Be still and know that I am God"

AH, I love that! The times we live in are wild and definitely keep us on our toes BUT it always important to remember that sometimes we need to be still and trust God. I just have such a sure knowledge that good things are coming and I know that when we trust Him, it will happen. I love my Heavenly Father and I love Jesus Christ!!! THEY ARE THE GREATEST EVER. BUT YES. AH have a good week!!!!

LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
sister farnworth

"WAIT THE KEY JUST BROKE" - 08/03/2020

                 The baptism!!

HI FRIENDS!!!!! AH, do I have a story for YOU. So there we were, getting ready for the baptism of our girl Melanie and we got into the gate of the church and the back doors then we were going to fill up the font and Sister Biggs turned to me and told me the key was a little twisted! WELL with not much thought that that could be bad, we figured we would just twist it back hahahahahaha funny. THE KEY ENDED UP SNAPPING IN HALF. AND WE HAD A BAPTISM IN 1.5 HOURS. AND THE FONT WAS EMPTY. TALK ABOUT MADNESS. It was an adventure, to say the least, BUT luckily it didn't break in the door or something AND we have some good Elders that came and let us use there key!!! Hahaha, it was a stressful little bit but God is good and so it all worked out!!!!

                   The Key..
     Social distancing at the baptism!

BUT YES HAPPY DAYS BECAUSE MELANIE GOT BAPTISED! Covid-19 has got nothing on the Lord's work ;) But for reals, it was definitely one of the most interesting baptisms I have ever been to because of COVID but it was so good and SO spiritual!!! Everything was socially distanced and there had to be signs everywhere and limited people but it was perfect for Melanie and she was just GLOWING. It was incredible!!! AH, I LOVE IT. We also saw miracles in our findings! We were sitting there and I just felt like I needed to call a number on our phone so I called this random man and he answered and turns out he has been through a lot recently and was thinking about building his faith. TALK ABOUT MIRACLES!!! He seems incredible so we are excited to teach him this coming week!!
Goodbyes:((

AHHH this week God has just been so good to us and I have seen his hand so much. It has been a hard week with so much change! We have our substitute mission president called President Turvey! He and his wife seem lovely, we have done a few video calls with them so we are excited for them!!! ALSO, all the missionaries officially went home! We got to call Sister Ellsworth, Sister Buck, and Sister Wetzker to say goodbye and it was emotional!!! SO crazy that they are home, AH. BUT I am happy for them, they are the sweetest!!!!

BUT YES it was a good week and amidst all the change and wildness, I am still smiling!! I am just grateful to know that we have our Saviour who loves and cares about us no matter what! HOW AMAZING IS THAT. HE IS SO GOOD. I love Him!! I am just so grateful!!! I love the gospel, it truly has changed my life for the better :)) and it can change YOURS too!!!

LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
sister farnworth

I'M WAY TOO GOOD AT GOODBYES - 07/28/2020

Some of my favorite people on a zoom call!!
WELLLLL HI FRIENDS. This has been a week full of goodbyes!!! LITERALLY EVERYONE IS LEAVING!!!! Like this week my trainer, my past companion and their group (full of 23 missionaries) AND President and Sister McReynolds leave!! It is so sad and many tears have been shed BUT good things are coming!!! We will have a substitute Mission President called President Turvey for a couple of weeks until President Johnson can make it out here! So crazy but it keeps life interesting yanno? WILD.
Me and Sister Biggs!!

BUUUT other than that, this week has been a wild one! There have been a lot of different emotions and many many little miracles! For starters, we had a miracle a couple weeks ago and she was a referral from Scotland/Ireland (does that ring a bell? Yanno it's okay if not) BUT she texted us this week and said SHE IS READY TO BE BAPTISED. OH wow, it was so happy!!! We have some more things to teach her but she is so prepared and we are so excited for her!!!! AH YAY. We also had such a spiritual little Sister's Devotional! We all shared ways our faith has grown in the last few months and it was BEAUTIFUL. AH, I love learning from so many incredible humans!!! SO YES. We also got to go and visit a lot of incredible humans this week which made us happy, there is nothing better than finally getting to meet with people face to face. PLUS they are sweet little returning members and one gave us cushion covers and another gave us knitted little angels!! HOW PURE IS THAT?!? I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!!!
Splits!!

AH, I am the worst at these little emails so I am sorry! I AM TRYING MY BEST. BUT this week was good, it was full of a lot of realizations and new ways to learn and grow which I am grateful for! Since it is transfers, I now know that I am officially in my last area of my mission! AHH ISN'T THAT WILD. My companion is starting her last transfer and then it will be mine!!! CRAZY but I love the people here in Newcastle-under-lyme and Stoke-on-Trent and I know there is so much more work to be done!!! AHHH I am so excited!!! I love being on the Lord's errand 24/7 it makes me happy!!!
I love these England sunsets!!

BUT YES. It has been a week of growth as some may say! I have had a lot of insecurities of mine show up right in front of my face which is always an adventure BUT I read this scripture about our Saviour's grace in Jacob 4:7 that I am obsessed with and it says:

"Nevertheless, the Lord God showeth us our weakness that we may know that it is by his grace, and his great condescensions unto the children of men, that we have the power to do these things."

If I know anything in life it is that the Saviour's grace is sufficient! He truly can make our weaknesses into strengths because He LOVES us. Isn't that amazing!!! AH, I am grateful for such incredible knowledge. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ!!!! ANYWAYS HAVE A GOOD WEEK.

LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
sister farnworth

YOU'RE A WIZARD HARRY - 07/20/2020

I held an OWL!!!
OKAY, REAL QUICK can we just talk about how we are more than halfway through July?!???? That is wild my friends and time is FLYING. I don't know how I feel but oh well, we just gotta take it a day at a time!!! BUUUT this week was way fun! We had this running joke since one of the elders in our district hasn't seen Harry Potter which was real fun BUT to top it off, we got to hold owls!!!! WHAT I definitely felt like I was about to head off to Hogwarts and I was all about it. I love the adventures that happen in England more than anyone probably understands! I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY.

Another owl I held hehe
Yummy cake!!!
OKAY but yes this week was really good!!! We had a huge miracle! SO we had two friends getting baptized in lockdown (one has moved their date so we will be able to do it in the chapel, YAY) and we could not find somewhere to do them BUT we prayed and sent a text to some members and instantly we got a response that we could use someone's hot tub. SUCH A BLESSING. God is so so so SO good!!! We also had splits and studies with some Sisters which always is a good time! I feel so beyond blessed to learn so much every week from such incredible humans! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH Y'ALL DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND!!!!
A lil walk we went on :))

Yes but this week was good! Full of a lot of ups and downs but overall I wouldn't change it for the world! I am grateful for all the opportunities I have had to grow and come closer to my Saviour. I just love Him so much!!!! I love the scripture in James 4:10 where it says...

"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up."

AHHH SUCH A SIMPLE BUT POWERFUL TRUTH. I am so grateful to know that the Lord will lift us up always and He will help us as long as we do out a bit and trust Him!!!! AHHH I LOVE MY SAVIOUR. HE IS MY BEST FRIEND!!! AH yes, have the happiest week this week!!!!!

LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
sister farnworth
SPLITS!!
