sick daaaaayyyyyzzzzzz - 05/27/2019

Waterloo Road!!
SUP EVERYONE. I hope you all had an amazing week and are just living your best lives!!! We were contacting people and THERE IS A STREET NAMED WATERLOO ROAD ISN'T THAT AMAZING????!??? If you don't get, that's a name of one of the songs from Mamma Mia and I miss Mamma Mia so you already know it made my day!

Also, I am sad to say that I have a farmer's tan.... I have never had one before so bless hahaha it's tragic honestly but yanno it was bound to happen and we LOVE it.

WEEEELLLLL ANYWAYS this week has been a week to say the least. Hahahaha I think I've felt every emotion ever (*me every week*) but on top of that, I got sick so that's just dandy we love it!!!! But no it's been a good week, we went to Cheshire Oaks which is this shopping center but I didn't buy anything (are we surprised???) BUUUUTTTTT we did get Nando's after (are we surprised again???) so I was a happy chicken nugget!!! That was a good little relaxing p-day, especially before this wild week hahahahaha! ANYWAYS, on to our week, it started with district council and we studied this talk called "The Atonement of Jesus Christ" by Tad R. Callister and it is an AMAAAAZING talk that I think everyone should read, like right now!! BUT then once everyone left, I just broke down. My little heart was sad!! I know it was because Satan was putting every negative thing in my head but it was real hard, I'm not gonna lie. BUT yanno God is good, Christ understands, and prayer is real SO WE GUCCI NOW. Then we met with some people and we have a friend where things are FINALLY clicking for her!!! It gives me so much hope for her and makes me so happy so that's good!!! Then we were street contacting and I met this man and I dont remember his name BUT he was so random it was great! He talked about how he believes we are all in God's head and that this is just one big hallucination, I was like okay you do you boo hahahaha I don't know, it just made my day and reminded me how much I love humans!! It's just great hearing different people's points of view on everything and it's very interesting for sure!!! THEN we rode the bus down to Buckley just to talk to people and change it up a little bit and oh my goodness I'm so embarrassing hahaha this man was walking and I said hi and then I was like "oh are you going to Buckley?" AND WE WERE IN BUCKLEY. I started laughing so hard (so was he luckily) I couldn't save myself hahahaha but it was so funny and it still makes me laugh because sometimes I am a little bit of an airhead!!!!

Then Sister Ellsworth and I both got sick so we stayed in Friday, we tried doing some contacting but I'm not gonna lie, it was boring lol BUT I also got to do a lot of studying and reading and it just made me more excited and determined to go out the next day, WHICH IS WHAT HAPPENED! It was a GREAT day! So we went by a lot of people's homes and we have no car so that means we walked.... A LOT. It was great yanno getting my steps in for the day (hahaha I'm so funny) but then we met up with the elders and there are horse races every couple of weeks here and there was one on Saturday so we went down to them to talk to people and we met some nice people and then when the actual race started, we all picked a horse and whoever's horse won got the satisfactory of winning AND MY HORSE WON CAN I GET A HOI YEAH. I was so pumped I felt so honored hahaha but then we went to town and talked to people! I met so many Americans it was so fun I was so excited hahaha but it's funny because it's SO weird to hear an American accent now because I'm so used to English accents!!! BUT it was great, I was a happy chicken nugget!!!! Then we met with one of our friends for the first time and that was good and THEN someone contacted us from a pass along I gave them, that rarely happens so we made another new friend and it was a good day!!!!

Then we met with our friend, Joe, and it was amazing!! He was interested in meeting with us and he downloaded the Book of Mormon app and everything on his own to before we met. I was like YO you're amazing, we didn't even tell him much about the Book of Mormon but I was all about it!! It was just really neat and a really good lesson!! We're meeting with him again next week and he's going to come to church next week as well so i'm excited!!!! OH ALSO, Sister Ellsworth and I are trying to be more positive with our lives and so we have this thing where we call each other out for every negative thing we say and if you say three negative things in one day, we call the elders and they get to make up your punishment. WELLLL we both said three negative things and they made us do FIVE HUNDRED SQUATS EACH. I am still sore but yanno we gotta learn somehow yanno?!!

BUT YES OKAY EVERYONE READ ALMA 17: 9-10 IS PRIME TIME. It talks about when Alma and the sons of Mosiah were traveling and they prayed and fasted for comfort and that's exactly what they got! I know I've mentioned this before but it reminds me a lot of my favorite scripture which is John 14: 18 where it says "I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you." There are so many times that the Lord talks about how he is always there for us and all we have to do in order to feel that comfort and feel his love is believe in him and PRAY. So if anyone reading this is feeling lonely or needs some hope, PRAY PRAY PRAY. There is always someone there for you, no matter how alone you feel!!!! I PROMISE YOU THIS GOSPEL IS AMAZING!!!

OKAY WELL, ITS BEEN A GOOD WEEK AND I AM HAPPY!!!! I love you all and hope you are all doing good!!! Have the best week ever and I'll talk to you next week!!!

LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
sister farnworth

WE MADE A FRIEND - 05/20/2019

the cute pic of me and Sister Ellsworth
HI FRIENDS I MISS YOU ALL!!! This week was a good week but such a busy week as well!!! OKAY so for starters last p-day we went out and walked around Chester with some elders and Elder Cannon had the idea to lay in this field of flowers and take a tumblr photo and all the elders did it AND IT WAS SO FUNNY hahahahaha I have never laughed so hard at anything in my life so please enjoy these photos of the elders in a field of flowers because they will make you laugh, no doubt!!

ANYWHOOOOO so this week we moved flats!!!! We lived in Buckley but they were going to kick us out so we moved to a place called Broughton!!! IT'S SO NICE I LOVE IT. We are right next to the shopping center which is nice for groceries BUT we're also right next to a McDonalds which is probably really bad because I looooove me some french fries (and Diet Coke, of course) and I crave them 24/7 hahahaha but it's great I love it! BUT the move went great and the senior couple and elders and office couple all helped us so it went really well. We celebrated the move with some Nandos which was HEAVENLY. It's like this South Africa restaurant??? I don't know though, all I know is that I think everyone should come to England/Wales and try some Nando's because it's so so so yummy!!! We are still trying to settle in and we got most of our unpacking done but it's been so good because this flat feels so much more like home than our other one did! It's amazing!!

This week we also had exchanges up in Liverpool with Sister Tshuma and Sister Arines!!! Sister Tshuma was my companion for the day!! She's the sweetest human, shes from Zimbabwe and this is her last transfer so she goes home in June!! We met with this lad named Killi and I don't know where he was from but I understand about 3 words he said. We had to use Google translate the whole lesson but it must've gone well because he wanted to meet again so they are going to!! BUT Liverpool is amazing there are just so many prepared people there that are ready for the gospel to come into their lives!!! I met lots of people and it was just so fun!! Then for dinner they made this homemade Mac n Cheese and ooooof it was so good! It inspired me to start cooking so if anyone has got some good recipes feel free to send them my way (please only easy recipes, I am the worst cook ever hahahahaha) and then I'll let you know how it goes!!! But I learned so much during exchanges and it was just so fun!! I got a little homesick when I was going to bed just because I let the adversary get in my head but I know I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be and that God is on my side so I seriously couldn't be happier!!!! Then on our way home, we found our that Sister Ellsworth has been putting one of our investigator's numbers on our pass along cards and handing them out so that was an event! Luckily, the man was SO nice and when we asked if anyone has texted him he told us what they said and gave us their numbers! It was like one of those moments where you laugh about it after the fact because we were definitely freaking out in the moment!!

exchanges!!
Finally, on Sunday we had an interesting day in the beginning then it got so much better let me tell you!! So we woke up and went to church and one of our friends came and it was so SO happy because I swear there is nothing better than seeing someone come closer to Christ! We had such good meetings and during Sunday School we talked about marriage and it was really good! The spirit was strong and it was just a good day, afterwards, our friend said he didn't know how he felt or if he'd come back so that was sad :( but we are going to meet with him this week so hopefully we can help him want to come back! Then we forgot our lunches so we had to go back to our flat after church and the mood was bumming... It was a hard week because we weren't able to proselyte as much because we were moving then had exchanges and I could tell Sister Ellsworth was a little down and if you know me, you know I don't like when people are sad or discouraged so I tried to brighten the mood but I don't think it worked hahaha but finally I was like well let's go find!!! So that's what we did! We went to this area and tried to call by a member but they were home so we were stuck and had no more members to contact but we had to be there because we had a tea appointment there. Then Sister Ellsworth said its TRACTING TIME BABY. Hahaha this was my first time tracking but I'm all about trying new things in the work so I was like yes okay let's do it and then in my head I was also like oh no what in the heck am I doing hahaha BUT we prayed for where to go and went to this street and knocked on some doors and talked to people and no luck :( BUT THEN there was this one house and there were no cars so Sister Ellsworth was like not this one because there are no cars and I was like why not give it a try haha it never hurts to try! And she hesitated and was like yeah I guess but you're taking the lead AND SOMEONE WAS HOME AND THEY WERE INTERESTED!!!! His name is Joe and he's about our age AND he wanted to meet to learn more about the Book of Mormon and Jesus Christ! It was such a testament to me that God is aware of His children and that He will direct us if we trust HIM!!! AH it was amazing!  But then we had dinner at the cutest home and they had 4 boys, they were all young but it definitely felt like I was back at home!!! It was just the perfect way to end the week!!!

the elders ran to our flat while they were on  exchanges
OVERALL, it was an amazing week and I saw the Lord's hand in so many ways! I watched this video on Sunday and it's part of a conference talk from Elder Holland and it's amazing!!! Its called "It's Never Too Late!" The Atonement has been something I've been focusing a lot on while being here because sometimes I feel like we feel like Christ's Atonement works for everyone but us BUT IT'S NOT TRUE!!! We have this amazing gift that we've been given and it works for every single one of us, HOW AMAZING IT THAT!!! All I know is that I just love it so much and I'm so grateful to have the knowledge that His Atonement truly does work for every single one of us!!! I LOVE THIS GOSPEL SO MUCH!!!!

LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
sister farnworth

a series of unfortunate events - 05/13/2019

Sister Ellsworth and Sister Farnworth in the rain!!
WELLLL first off... there is SO MUCH RAIN. I mean I'm not upset but I definitely got spoiled when I was first here because it was SO sunny and now its a bit chilly but I'm here for it! This is the England I was expecting though so it's a good time and I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!

This week was an AMAZING week but also a week filled with unfortunate events (just like the title says hahahahaha, I'm so funny)!! SO first on our adventure of unfortunate events, we went out and we rode on a bus to a place called Mold, it's in Wales and it's beautiful!! We met with one of our investigators and ate McFlurries and life was good!! We had a good conversation, he was a little sad when he found out that the sister that used to be companions with Sister Ellsworth was gone but then even more sad when he found out that Sister Ellsworth was going to leave! It was so sad and it was kind of like a break up, he was crying which made her cry... it was tragic honestly hahaha but I felt like I was watching a Nicholas Sparks movie so it was pretty exciting!!! But then we went and knocked on doors and no one answered or they said they don't have time and shut it really quick. One lady answered and according to our maps, she was a member but just less active so I said "Hi are you [insert name here]?" and she was not happy that I knew her name. Turns out it wasn't the lady we were looking for and they just happened to have the same name BUUUUT all is welllllllllll. Then we met a man who is an artist and he seemed like he was interested, we talked to him for about an hour. Turns out he just wanted us to buy his artwork and didn't want anything to do with the Gospel hahaha but it was a good conversation!!! We almost missed our bus though so we had to run to that then we had to run to our dinner appointment because we were going to be late and it was just a lot of running and let me tell you I have not run for a reeeeeaaaaallllly long time so you can guess how I felt at the end of that lol (RIP mfarny)

Then we got canceled on so we planned to spend the whooooole day street contacting but little did we know there was gonna be a HUGE rainstorm!!! It was so funny it was literally pouring and we didn't bring our umbrellas so we were soaking wet hahahaha everyone took cover and there was no one outside except us SO since it was my one month of being out, we took cover and got us some gelato, I WAS SO HAPPY! I love me some gelatoooooo!! It was great and when we got into the gelato place we had little puddles under us because we were dripping so much hahaha good times good times!!! Then the next day we went street contacting and the weather was so nice there wasn't one cloud in the sky and it was sunny which was amazing!!! Then we had a dinner appointment with the sweetest lady in the ward, she is seriously the most amazing human, I aspire to be like her one day!!! We stayed and talked with her for a while ANNNND we missed our bus back to our flat!!! So we were like well we can wait an hour for the next bus or we can walk and be home in an hour... so we chose to walk. Dumb decision. WE GOT LOST AND ENDED UP WALKING FOR 2.5 HOURS!!! Hahaha so Google maps took us onto this one trail and then said we had to get on another trail that was nonexistent soooooo we just kept following the first trail but then it just ended so we were just strolling on the grass part (I don't know what you call that) trying to get out. The view was AMAZING though so we weren't complaining! But we were so scared someone was gonna come out and yell at us but then I was like if they do, we look like two dumb Americans lost in a patch of grass so hopefully they'll be nice hahaha then we finally got out this grassy area AND we were still an hour from home!! It was 8:30 at this point so we just hurried home it was quite the adventure!!!! Then just for a cherry on top of our adventures, one of our investigators dropped us!!! It was so sad :(

BUUUUT even though this was a week of many adventures, it was an amazing week!!! We had zone conference and the topic was conversion. It was amazing amazing AMAZING!! We talked about how we ALL have to have our own conversion and we need to understand where are investigators and members are with their conversions! I also loved it because we talked about how we aren't here to DO things for them, we're just here to HELP them!!! I LOVE THAT!! Especially in missionary work, it's so easy to think okay what can we do for them instead of how can we help them!!!

Then throughout all our adventures, it was seriously so fun! We remembered to laugh even though everything that could have gone wrong did and I think that was so important!!  It was a good reminder to just enjoy the journey and I know that we were never alone when things did go wrong because the Lord was with us and helping us along the way and he continues to help us and be with us EVERYDAY. I kept thinking of the scripture John 14:18 during our adventures, the Lord is talking and He says "I will not leave you comfortless, I will come unto you". HOW GREAT IS THAT?!??? No matter how lonely we might feel, we are truly never alone!!!! AHHHH I LOVE THIS GOSPEL.

ANYWHOOOOO, I hope you all had an amazing week and Happy Mother's Day to all the momma's (and my momma:))that are reading this!

LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
sister farnworth

Lost on the spontaneous trail!

..and on the first day (of May), sister farnworth was born - 05/6/2019

Sister Ellsworth and Sister Farnworth
I'M STILL ALIVE AND WELL Y'ALL hahaha everyone says a mission is like a mini life so when you enter the field you are "born" hahaha so there's a little explanation of the title for this week!!!! I probably think that's funnier than it should be but life is all about finding joy in the little things amiright hahaha

ANYWHOOOOO first of all, I'm so sorry to everyone that I didn't email back!! I feel terrible but I didn't really have a p-day like I thought I would!!! Second of all, the Diet Coke here taste's pretty normal...... and I don't know if it's because I haven't had diet coke for the last three weeks so why it tastes good BUUUT I LOOOVE ME SOME DIET COKE so I was grateful hahaha it made me so happy you don't even understand!!! Third of all (and most importantly), we had such a good week! It is so fun to be out in the field and to be a MISSIONARY! I mean I'm pretty sure I've felt every emotion you could possibly feel so that's just dandy we love that hahaha but for reals, it was SO good! My trainer is Sister Ellsworth from Boise, ID! She knows my cousin, Audrey and her friends so it's been nice to have something that we could relate with so instantly! But she's cool, she's only been out for three months so she's pretty new too so it has been fun!!! BUT WE ARE IN WALES WOOT WOOT. We're serving in the Chester area!! So like half my area is England and the other half is Wales but our flat is in Wales and the chapel is in Wales so I'm mostly in Wales hahaha it has been amazing and it's so pretty here!!

We got to do so much this week! Our first night here, the new missionaries slept at the mission home!! Sister Smith and I stayed up all night talking it was a blast and a half!! Hahaha we were both so stressed about the unexpected so it was nice to be able to talk it out! I love her. Then when we got with our trainers and went to our area, we had dinner at the Mouncher's home,  they were really nice, we had curry! THEN a few days later, we got to go to the temple with our recent convert Lesley on Saturday and if you know me, you know I love the temple SOOOO, of course, it was amazing!!! It was just so cool to see the light that it brought Lesley and the joy that she had!!! AH I love seeing the gospel change peoples lives already, it's the best EVER. Then we had a lesson with one of our friends. We talked about the Atonement of Jesus Christ and baptism, the spirit was so strong it was amazing. Once again, I got emotional but it's just so good so I don't know how you couldn't!!! Then Sunday we had church and we have testimony meeting and it was amazing and the spirit was strong!!! I'm still getting used to the accents though hahaha sometimes people talk and I just smile because I have no idea what they just said but it's great! THEN Recent Convert Fireside, it's where recent converts share their stories and testimonies and it's so inspiring!!! I loved it!!!

BUUUUT that's about it! I love it here, I've been able to meet so many different people and talk to everyone and see so many amazing places! It's AMAZING!!!! I have also been able to see the Lord's hand in all that we do throughout the day and that has been so happy :') like one day I was feeling all the feels but then the CUTEST couple at a restaurant turned to us and just started talking to us and they were just so nice and wise and it made my whole week AHHH I love it! God is just too good!!

A favorite bit of my week was at church on Sunday! We talked about not judging others which is SO SO beyond important!!  We watched a video called "Judging others? Stop it!" By Elder Uchtdorf and I know most of y'all are on your phones so go watch it when you're done reading this because it's so important!!! We get so caught up in thinking people aren't doing it right because it's not how you do it or because their looks make it seem like they are a mess BUT WHO CARES! We are all humans trying to live our best lives so we need to stop judging people and start loving everyone because that's exactly what Christ does!!! He doesn't care if someone has blue hair or blonde hair or if someones a doctor or works at McDonald's, He loves everyone unconditionally and I just think we all can try a little harder to be more like Him, especially in that aspect, because we need some more love in the world okay that's all thank you for coming to my ted talk

I love you all and hope you all have the best week!!!

LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
sister farnworth

p.s. my p-day's are on monday's now!!!!!

last week in the mtc :') - 04/30/2019

WELL what a week!!!! Honestly, my whole life is a blur right now and I don't remember much BUT. It started off with class and class and more class which is always fun haha but we got to go and do a visit of historical church sites in England!!! We went to Preston and the flat that Gordon B. Hinckley stayed in when his dad sent him the letter saying "Forget yourself and go to work". So that was pretty neat!!! Then we got to visit a church and just some cool places. There's a tree in Preston called the Missionary Tree and it's very pretty!! It's for all the missionaries that serve in England! I was all about that one you guys know how much I just looove trees ;)

But I am so ready to get out in the field!! I love the MTC and I'm going to miss my friends so much but ya girl wants to go out to the real world!!! I can barely focus on anything because I am so excited so that's no bueno but like I'm living my best life. AND my district is so funny so that doesn't help!!! But I will miss them all and we had a testimony meeting on Sunday and I was a little emotional (are we surprised?? probably not) BUT it was so spiritual and I am just always grateful to hear others testimonies.  BUT YES, it honestly just made me realize that WE LEAVE SO SOON AND IM SO PUMPED. I seriously can't wait, it came so fast!!

But I don't have time to talk today so sorry this is short!! AND I won't be able to email anyone until next Monday so I'll talk to you all when I'm in the field!!!

LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
sister farnworth
