another week has come and gone!! - 04/23/19

Megan's companion and district
The District stick figures
Another weeeek has come and gone and I swear yesterday I was just calling home!! Hahaha it's crazy because I feel like the first was the looooongest week ever but now days are going quick and I'm grateful to have a watch that tells me what day it is because I seriously never know!!! Anywhoooo it was a good weeek!!

We got to watch this devotional by Elder Bednar and it was so neat!! It was talking about if the voice we hear is the holy ghost or just ourselves and he said IT DOESNT MATTER. Just be a good boy or a good girl and keep the commandments and your covenants and you will know exactly what to do and I was likkkkeee oooo you right boi but it opened my eyes tons and I loved it!!

Yesterday we got to go to Manchester and do some street contacting and that was an adventure let me tell you!! Hahaha so I was with one of the new Russian sisters that barely speaks English and she is the sweetest human ever but little English means I'm the only one that can talk which is fun but I don't know its very intimidating!! So this homeless guy stopped us and was like "Are you Mormons?" And I was like yes!!! How do you know? And we talked for some time and he was talking about how he wishes we could all be happy and believe the same things and what not and it was great and then he hurried and switched the direction of conversation and was trying to test me on my knowledge and kinda got mad at me for not knowing everything but YOU GUYS. I have never felt so calm about anything in my life! I was like so soft spoken and I knew I wasn't alone because I felt so strong in what I believe.

Eventually, he realized he couldn't tear me down so he backed away and said have a good day and what not but that was an experience!!! Then I met a few atheists and made just some good conversation with all of them! They were all super nice and it was great!!! One of them wanted a pass along card which was kinda exciting haha then we met a guy that basically told me I was going to hell for eating meat and ice cream and I was like hmmmmmmm okay sounds good buddy it was so funny but he saw the Book of Mormon and said he wanted to read it so I gave him a copy!! It was cool!!! So that was an awesome experience and I definitely feel like I am being myself as I talk to people which has been such a blessing!!! SO DONT YOU WORRY I AM STILL MFARNY YEEET!!

ALSO, I play soccer like every day and I still suck but it's so much fun to play with everyone, especially when we all suck!! But if you think about it since we get to play every day were bound to get good so don't be surprised if I come home and I'm a pro 🤷‍♀️

ANYWHOOOO, one more week till I'm out in the field and I am pumped!!!! I'm like nervous but also I can't wait!!!!

LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
sister farnworth

P.S. I have no idea when my p-day will be next week so I'll email when I can!!!

first week in the mtc!!! - 04/16/19

Add caption
HELLLLLLO FRIENDS!!!!! Well, what a week it has been!!! So much has happened, I don't even know where to begin. FIRST OF ALL, I miss you all!!!! I'm not really homesick, but I do miss all of you and hope life is soooo good!!!! Life is good here, we have been learning tons and living our best lives!!! My companion is Sister Steiner and she is from Austria and is 21!!! She's going to the Scotland/Ireland mission though so that's exciting for her! We got made Sister Trainer Leaders for the next two weeks so hopefully I don't screw that one up because I swear my mind runs like 3000 miles an hour here and there's always like 279,372 things on my mind! BUT I think we'll be chillin!!

They have been so nice since we got here and understanding of how hard this all is!!! One teacher told us if we get too stressed we can just take a minute to ourselves, I was shocked because this is nothing like the brothers warned me for, so thanks for nothing y'alllllllll. Just kidding just kidding but it's been good!! We have done good so far we have done door-knocks and gotten to know 'investigators' (they are really our teachers we just have to call them different names, lol). But that's been good we had somewhat of a lesson with them but we were just getting to know them the last time we met with them. That's been neat and we did a lesson and I was like oh I'm ready for this send me out to the real world... THEN we had a lesson with our other one and I was like distracted by my thoughts and quickly was like never mind don't send me out to the real world I'll stay here forever. Hahahaha just kidding but it was a DAY!

On Sunday the Area President came to speak to us and his name is Elder Johnson from Sandy, UT.  All his NINE kids went to Jordan (go beetdiggers!!) I was like holy crap, but it was cool because we could talk about home!! He was really good to listen to and his wife talked about how it doesn't matter where we came from or what we've done or anything because, at the end of the day, we are all children of God. Now I don't know if it was because I was feeling homesick on Sunday but that hit me hard and I was like you right we are all children of God and right now I'm okay because I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be!!!!! After they spoke to us we listened to the song Nearer my God to Thee and I STARTED CRYING! WHATTTTT? Let me tell you why, this song reminds me of Grandpa Farnworth and his funeral. When it started playing it seemed like Grandpa Farnworth was hugging me and I just felt instant relief and happiness!!! It was amazing!!!

Another incredible experience we had was we went to Manchester!!!! We got to proselyte to REAL LIFE HUMANS!! It was wild honestly and very scary! When we got there we prayed of course and I was like okay we got this. THHEEEENNN we didn't talk to anyone for an hour and I was like okay Sister Steiner, this isn't me, and I'm usually more of an outgoing person so I don't want to leave this regretting it!!!! So luckily, a teacher helped us and gave us a pep talk and then we went and handed out pass along cards and a Book of Mormon! We didn't get anyone's contact information but we did plant seeds so I am happy!! It was a scary experience but I wouldn't have changed it for the world and thankfully I didn't leave with any regrets!!!

FINALLY, we got to go to the town of Chorley and that was very very neat!!! It's so old and cute and I love it!!! And there was a Mary Poppins bench and we all started singing songs from Mary Poppins and it was GREAT. Then YOU GUYS, I got out of my comfort zone and ate fish and chips and they weren't too shabby! I had the option to get me some chicken tenders and I got fish and chips so I'm honestly proud of myself!!

Anywhooooo, this week was good and went by quick but also so slowwww but I only have two more weeks in the MTC so that's wild!!!! I love you all so much and hope you have the best week ever!!! Talk to you later!

LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
Sister Farnworth

I MADE IT BABY!!! - 04/10/19

Hellllllllooooo!!!

This is the group of missionaries that
traveled to the England MTC.
I made it to England! This day has been the longest day of my life and I only slept for like two hours on the plane so please pray for me hahaha I'm having kind of a hard time. I am missing my family for realsies but like living my best life so it's okay!!! It's weird to think that I will be here for EIGHTEEN MONTHS... but if I think that far ahead I get anxious so I have to remember to take it one day at a time!!

Anyways, I got lucky on my plane ride to New York because I was in the isle seat and there was no one in between me and the dude by the window so we were just maaaddddd chillin. Then when we got to New York we had to hurry to our next flight, we weren't too rushed but we all needed to go to the bathroom so that took some time. I didn't get so lucky with my flight to Manchester because I had the window seat and there were two ladies next to me. They were so sweet to me! We talked about what I was doing and they were shocked that I was leaving for 18 months and wasn't gonna home and visit during the whole time hahahha it was funny! BUT THEN HOMEGIRL MESSED UP because I asked about the soccer teams here and I forgot they call it football so you know I said soccer and they gave me the WEIRDEST looks hahahaha I was so embarrassed it wasn't even funny!!! just kidding it was and I laughed and they laughed but at least I learned early on not to call it soccer! BUT they were sweet, I was closing my eyes and dinner came around on the flight and they made sure to wake me up and always would help me with any questions and then talk to me randomly! I loved it!!

This is Megan's room in the MTC
It started to hit me that I'm gonna be gone on the bus and I really doubted myself. I didn't know if I could do this or if I was strong enough but when we got inside the MTC they told us they are taking us to the temple today and the Spirit overcame me. God knew I needed to go to the temple and even though every missionary probably goes on their first day, it just meant a lot to me!!! SO I am excited to go there today to feel comfort! ANYWHO my pday's are on Tuesdays in the MTC and I leave the MTC on April 30. Please pray for me!!! I'll be praying for you and the family!!! I love you too much and miss you already!!!
