"WAIT THE KEY JUST BROKE" - 08/03/2020

                 The baptism!!

HI FRIENDS!!!!! AH, do I have a story for YOU. So there we were, getting ready for the baptism of our girl Melanie and we got into the gate of the church and the back doors then we were going to fill up the font and Sister Biggs turned to me and told me the key was a little twisted! WELL with not much thought that that could be bad, we figured we would just twist it back hahahahahaha funny. THE KEY ENDED UP SNAPPING IN HALF. AND WE HAD A BAPTISM IN 1.5 HOURS. AND THE FONT WAS EMPTY. TALK ABOUT MADNESS. It was an adventure, to say the least, BUT luckily it didn't break in the door or something AND we have some good Elders that came and let us use there key!!! Hahaha, it was a stressful little bit but God is good and so it all worked out!!!!

                   The Key..
     Social distancing at the baptism!

BUT YES HAPPY DAYS BECAUSE MELANIE GOT BAPTISED! Covid-19 has got nothing on the Lord's work ;) But for reals, it was definitely one of the most interesting baptisms I have ever been to because of COVID but it was so good and SO spiritual!!! Everything was socially distanced and there had to be signs everywhere and limited people but it was perfect for Melanie and she was just GLOWING. It was incredible!!! AH, I LOVE IT. We also saw miracles in our findings! We were sitting there and I just felt like I needed to call a number on our phone so I called this random man and he answered and turns out he has been through a lot recently and was thinking about building his faith. TALK ABOUT MIRACLES!!! He seems incredible so we are excited to teach him this coming week!!
Goodbyes:((

AHHH this week God has just been so good to us and I have seen his hand so much. It has been a hard week with so much change! We have our substitute mission president called President Turvey! He and his wife seem lovely, we have done a few video calls with them so we are excited for them!!! ALSO, all the missionaries officially went home! We got to call Sister Ellsworth, Sister Buck, and Sister Wetzker to say goodbye and it was emotional!!! SO crazy that they are home, AH. BUT I am happy for them, they are the sweetest!!!!

BUT YES it was a good week and amidst all the change and wildness, I am still smiling!! I am just grateful to know that we have our Saviour who loves and cares about us no matter what! HOW AMAZING IS THAT. HE IS SO GOOD. I love Him!! I am just so grateful!!! I love the gospel, it truly has changed my life for the better :)) and it can change YOURS too!!!

LOVE YOU ALWAYS,

I'M WAY TOO GOOD AT GOODBYES - 07/28/2020

Some of my favorite people on a zoom call!!
WELLLLL HI FRIENDS. This has been a week full of goodbyes!!! LITERALLY EVERYONE IS LEAVING!!!! Like this week my trainer, my past companion and their group (full of 23 missionaries) AND President and Sister McReynolds leave!! It is so sad and many tears have been shed BUT good things are coming!!! We will have a substitute Mission President called President Turvey for a couple of weeks until President Johnson can make it out here! So crazy but it keeps life interesting yanno? WILD.
Me and Sister Biggs!!

BUUUT other than that, this week has been a wild one! There have been a lot of different emotions and many many little miracles! For starters, we had a miracle a couple weeks ago and she was a referral from Scotland/Ireland (does that ring a bell? Yanno it's okay if not) BUT she texted us this week and said SHE IS READY TO BE BAPTISED. OH wow, it was so happy!!! We have some more things to teach her but she is so prepared and we are so excited for her!!!! AH YAY. We also had such a spiritual little Sister's Devotional! We all shared ways our faith has grown in the last few months and it was BEAUTIFUL. AH, I love learning from so many incredible humans!!! SO YES. We also got to go and visit a lot of incredible humans this week which made us happy, there is nothing better than finally getting to meet with people face to face. PLUS they are sweet little returning members and one gave us cushion covers and another gave us knitted little angels!! HOW PURE IS THAT?!? I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!!!
Splits!!

AH, I am the worst at these little emails so I am sorry! I AM TRYING MY BEST. BUT this week was good, it was full of a lot of realizations and new ways to learn and grow which I am grateful for! Since it is transfers, I now know that I am officially in my last area of my mission! AHH ISN'T THAT WILD. My companion is starting her last transfer and then it will be mine!!! CRAZY but I love the people here in Newcastle-under-lyme and Stoke-on-Trent and I know there is so much more work to be done!!! AHHH I am so excited!!! I love being on the Lord's errand 24/7 it makes me happy!!!
I love these England sunsets!!

BUT YES. It has been a week of growth as some may say! I have had a lot of insecurities of mine show up right in front of my face which is always an adventure BUT I read this scripture about our Saviour's grace in Jacob 4:7 that I am obsessed with and it says:

"Nevertheless, the Lord God showeth us our weakness that we may know that it is by his grace, and his great condescensions unto the children of men, that we have the power to do these things."

If I know anything in life it is that the Saviour's grace is sufficient! He truly can make our weaknesses into strengths because He LOVES us. Isn't that amazing!!! AH, I am grateful for such incredible knowledge. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ!!!! ANYWAYS HAVE A GOOD WEEK.

LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
sister farnworth

YOU'RE A WIZARD HARRY - 07/20/2020

I held an OWL!!!
OKAY, REAL QUICK can we just talk about how we are more than halfway through July?!???? That is wild my friends and time is FLYING. I don't know how I feel but oh well, we just gotta take it a day at a time!!! BUUUT this week was way fun! We had this running joke since one of the elders in our district hasn't seen Harry Potter which was real fun BUT to top it off, we got to hold owls!!!! WHAT I definitely felt like I was about to head off to Hogwarts and I was all about it. I love the adventures that happen in England more than anyone probably understands! I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY.

Another owl I held hehe
Yummy cake!!!
OKAY but yes this week was really good!!! We had a huge miracle! SO we had two friends getting baptized in lockdown (one has moved their date so we will be able to do it in the chapel, YAY) and we could not find somewhere to do them BUT we prayed and sent a text to some members and instantly we got a response that we could use someone's hot tub. SUCH A BLESSING. God is so so so SO good!!! We also had splits and studies with some Sisters which always is a good time! I feel so beyond blessed to learn so much every week from such incredible humans! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH Y'ALL DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND!!!!
A lil walk we went on :))

Yes but this week was good! Full of a lot of ups and downs but overall I wouldn't change it for the world! I am grateful for all the opportunities I have had to grow and come closer to my Saviour. I just love Him so much!!!! I love the scripture in James 4:10 where it says...

"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up."

AHHH SUCH A SIMPLE BUT POWERFUL TRUTH. I am so grateful to know that the Lord will lift us up always and He will help us as long as we do out a bit and trust Him!!!! AHHH I LOVE MY SAVIOUR. HE IS MY BEST FRIEND!!! AH yes, have the happiest week this week!!!!!

LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
sister farnworth

AH WE GOT TO SEE PRESIDENT AND SISTER MCREYNOLDS - 07/13/2020

Seeing the McReynolds!!

YES, YOU READ IT RIGHT MY FRIENDS. The McReynolds did a little mission tour and we got to see them and talk to them!!! ALL socially distanced of course but it was so incredible. I love them TOOOOO much!!!! We just talked and left and cried and had all the good and it was incredible. They are the best humans EVER. AND I will miss them! Their flight planes came and they will be going home on July 31st SO we will have a substitute mission president OR a miracle will happen and President and Sister Johnson will make it here!!! SO EVERYONE KEEP ON PRAYING OKAY THANKS!

We also had some incredible splits with the Sisters! OH MY GOODNESS I JUST LOVE THEM. They truly help me to learn and to grow more than they know and I am so grateful for them!!! I got to call Sister Torres, Sister Lawson, Sister Christenson, AND do a lesson with Sister Lundkvist! It was busy but definitely made for one happy Sister Farnworth! I just love them and I am grateful to have the opportunity to call them so often!!! THEY ARE THE BEST.
We love them!!

THEN we also had a miracle referral!!! SO we got a call from my past companion, Sister Buck, and she told us her friend in the Scotland/Ireland mission had a referral for us!!! SO we got to visit the referral on Thursday and she is AMAZING. We gave them a Book of Mormon and she wants to get baptized, along with her son! Isn't that SO HAPPY!??? AH it was incredible and I just feel so grateful because the Lord is truly on our side and His work goes forward!!!! I LOVE IT.
Splits!!

OTHER THAN THAT, this week was okay!! It definitely had its ups and downs but I am learning a lot and becoming the human God needs me to be!!! SO that is happy. I am just grateful for the Saviour and His Atonement. He is truly my Best Friend and helps me more than I probably know! There is a scripture I read today that I love in 1 Nephi 22:15-16 that says...

"yet will I not forget thee,... behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands"

OKAY simple but powerful. Christ will never forget about us, He is always there. He will always lift us up when we need it (and even when we don't)!!!! He is there for all of us and I am so grateful to know that! OKAY, YOU'RE ALL THE BEST AND I HOPE YOU HAVE A FANTABULOUS WEEK.

LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
sister farnworth

THREE AND A HALF MONTHS LATER.. - 07/06/2020

GREGGS after 3.5 months!!

WELL my friends, it has officially been three and a half months of lockdown AND England is out of it!!!! ALL the shops are open (I even got to go to my favorite food place) and we are HAPPY. It honestly has felt unreal and it seems a little wild when you genuinely think of all that is going on in the world! We are definitely just counting our many blessings!!! AH, what a time to be a missionary!!!
Shopping..finally!

BUT this week was a good, good week!!! We started it off with a lil sister's lunch where basically we all Zoom called in and ate food and had a lot of laughs!!! AH I love my mission. Then we went on a GOOD five mile walk to meet a friend!!!! When we got back home I was real tired but it was so worth it!! She just wants to get baptized so we are PRAYING for a miracle (because basically, you can do most things but no baptisms)!!! BUT it was fun!!

Oh oh oh ALSO we had a lil fourth of July BBQ with a recent convert!!! It was SO fun! SO since lockdown has eased up, both missionaries in the area can go to a tea appointment so it was us, the Elders, and a recent convert and it was so fun. I love me some burgers!!!! We also had some skewers and sausage and S'MORES! AH, it was incredible but England didn't let us forget we were in England because the weather was still classic English weather 🤷🏽‍♀️ BUT that's okay!!!! We are still happy!!!
Celebrating the 4th of July

THEN to finish the week we were able to take the Sacrament and OH MY GOODNESS. It was a spiritually emotional time to be alive!!! I couldn't stop crying, we went to a members and we bore our testimonies and it was amazing! God is good!!!! I love Him and I love my Saviour, they are the greatest. It was the happiest moment to be alive. AH so incredible!!! Then the finally of the week was the Why I Believe Devotional which was incredible as always!!! Here is nothing better than hearing the testimony of recent converts :))

Calls with the Sisters!!

SPLITS!!

WELL, WHAT A HAPPY WEEK!!! I could jump for joy all day because of the joy I felt this week!!! It reminds me of a scripture in the Book of Mormon in Alma 5:26 and it says...

"And now behold, I say unto you... if ye have experienced a change of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now?"

AH this week was definitely a week where I have felt like singing the song of redeeming love!!! The gospel of Jesus Christ has changed my life for the good and I am so beyond GRATEFUL!!!!! I just love it all so much!!! IT IS INCREDIBLE. BUT yes I hope you all have a good week!!!!

LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
sister farnworth
Gotta love the weather in England..sunny and storming
at the same time!!
